Past ThemesEvery other year, the Wayne Morse Center selects a theme of inquiry to focus its activities. The Advisory Board selects themes that are in the tradition of Senator Morse, build on the strength of the UO faculty, with topics that are timely and important, and multidisciplinary in nature. The center does not attempt a comprehensive analysis but instead hosts distinguished guests and convenes activities to complement these visits.
2007-09 Theme: Democracy and Citizenship in the 21st Century (past events) 2005-07 Theme: Indigenous Peoples: National Policy and International Human Rights 2003-05 Theme: The Changing Geopolitical Order 2001-03 Theme: Race, Class, and the Criminal Justice System 2000-2001 Theme: Labor in a Global Economy 1999-2000 Theme: The Rich, the Poor, and American Politics |
